Betty J. Horton, 90, of Williamsport, passed away Wednesday August 8, at UPMC Susquehanna in Williamsport. She was born June 27, 1928 in Williamsport to the late Daniel and Emma (Ritter) O’Brien.
Betty worshiped at Mater Dolorosa and graduated from Williamsport High School. She waitressed at The Bridge Tavern, was a life member of the PTA – active at both Thomas Jefferson Elementary and Williamsport High School, a Den Mother for Boy Scouts of America troop 35, a member of American Legion Post 617 and The Forty and Eight Auxiliary. Betty also enjoyed camping with her family.
Betty is survived by one son: Bernard Horton (Patricia) of Montoursville; three daughters: Cindy Segraves (David) of Williamsport, Deborah Koch (Steven) of New Cumberland, and Pearl Crawley of South Williamsport; five grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
A private memorial mass will be held in her honor at a later date.
