Betty J. (Hess) Kibbe

WILLIAMSPORT - Betty J. (Hess) Kibbe, 87, died Monday, November 28, 2016 at Manor Care North and is now with her husband, Weimer J. Kibbe.  They were married on November 20, 1958 and celebrated 59 years together as husband and wife at the time of his death on August 1, 2016.

Betty was born on August 11, 1929 in Renovo and was the daughter of the late Harry J. and Blanche Mae (McGonigal) Hess.  She graduated from Renovo High School and then the Williamsport School of Commerce.  Betty was employed as a secretary for the Tabernacle Baptist Church for many years and retired from there.  Betty and Weimer were members of that church since 1959.

Betty enjoyed being active in her church, playing the piano, drawing and sketching.  She especially enjoyed visits from her nieces, Debra Card and Kathy Lear.  Betty was one of nine children.

 She is survived by one brother; Raymond A. Hess (Beverly) of Oval, one sister; Mary Fleisher of Renovo, several nieces and nephews and one sister-in-law; Lillian Vanvelkinburg of Sacramento, CA.

Family and friends will be received at the Maneval Allen Redmond Cremation & Funeral Home, 500 West 4th St., Williamsport Monday, December 5, 2016 from 9 – 10 a.m. where the funeral will begin at 10:00 a.m.  Pastor Joel Long will officiate the service.  Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery.

The family will provide the flowers and ask that memorial contributions be made to the Tabernacle Baptist Church, 911 West 3rd St., Williamsport, PA 17701 or to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
