SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT - Mildred “Mitzie” J. Bair, 84, of Duboistown, passed away, Tuesday, October 4, 2016, at the Gatehouse Hospice Facility.

She was born in Connecticut on May 16, 1932, daughter of the late Fred M. And Mildred J. (Smith) Rupert.

On February 21, 1951 she married the love of her life, Kenneth L. Bair, and together they shared 51 years together before his passing in 2002.

Mitzie worked at the former Sycamore Manor Nursing Home for over 30 years.

She was a member of the Duboistown United Methodist Church.

In her younger years, Mitzie loved to roller-skate, but once married, her family became priority.  She loved both babies and animals ~ always stopping total strangers to make a “fuss”!   It was her dog Muffin though, that brought her joy and comfort the past 15 years. Mitzie believed in “Acts of Random Kindness” long before it became popular!  And, “Your mom is so sweet “was the comment most expressed by her care takers.

Mitzis’ surviving relatives include one son, Stephen M. Bair, of Duboistown; two daughters, Kristine L. Harman, of Casa Grande, AZ Darlene Mitcheltree, of Huntington Beach, CA and. She was also known as Nana to four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Kenneth, she was preceded in death by her son, Keith T. Bair and two brothers Bill and Robert Rupert.
