SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT - Robert Scott Wachter “Shoe”, 56, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017, surrounded by loved ones, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.  He was born on May 20, 1961, in Williamsport to Ernest and Doris (Tinney) Wachter.

Robert grew up in South Williamsport, where he attended South Williamsport High School.  After high school, he joined the US Army in 1981 and served for 6 years.  He was honorably discharged in 1986.

Robert married Alicia (Noon) in 2009 in South Williamsport.  They were happily married for eight years.  Robert was a member of the American Legion Post 617, the Polish Club and the VFW Post 7863.  His greatest enjoyment in life was making people laugh.  He had a true passion for life and living it to the fullest.  His laughter was contagious and his smile could light up a room.  He enjoyed motorcycles, playing the harmonica, boat rides on the river and spending time with those he loved.  He also never missed a moment to cheer for his beloved Phillies or the Miami Dolphins.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Wachter.

Robert is survived by his wife, Alicia; sons, Adam Wachter, Alex (Tracey) Wachter; step-daughter, Brooke Kinney; stepson, Kevin Kinney; mother, Doris Wachter; brothers, Jeff Wachter, Ken (Cecelia) Wachter, Joe (Darla) Wachter, Gary (Ann) Wachter, Ernest Wachter; and many loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.

Visitation and service will be held at New Covenant United Church of Christ, 202 East Third St., Williamsport, on Thursday, June 8, 2017.  The family will be greeting friends and relatives from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.  Service will follow at 6:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to the American Legion.  Condolences may be left on Robert Wachter’s online memorial book at www.memorialwebsites.legacy.com/robertwachter.
