WILLIAMSPORT - Thelma M. Hartsock, 94, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 8, surrounded by her family. Born November 2, 1923, in Lock Haven, Pa., Thelma was one of 13 children to Gabriel and Elsie Eck Dutton.
Thelma attended St. Agnes and Immaculate Conception High School in Lock Haven. She was a homemaker while raising her children and a caring, loving mother and grandmother. She was a dedicated nursing assistant at the Williamsport Hospital for 21 years until her retirement. Thelma enjoyed reading and spending time with family and her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church.
Surviving are a sister, Kate, 95, of Lock Haven; two sons: Rusty (Susan) of Meadville, Pa. and Dan (Mary Lou) of Havertown, Pa.; two daughters: Kay Snyder of Williamsport, Pa. and Ann (Clay) Weaver of Linden, Pa.; a daughter-in-law: Roberta Olmstead; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Thelma was preceded in death by Victor, her husband of 55 years; a son, William; her parents; and eleven brothers and sisters.
Mom left these words for all of us: "I'd like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun of happy memories that I leave when my life is done."
Visitation will be 9:00-11:00 Saturday, July 14, at Maneval Allen Redmond Funeral Home, 500 West Fourth Street, Williamsport, Pa. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 at the funeral home, followed by burial in St Boniface Cemetery. Father Bill Corcoran will officiate the services.
