Annette Lucille (Lawson) Shannon, 97, of the Presbyterian Home in Williamsport, passed away Monday, August 20, 2018 at the Gatehouse.
She was married to the late Eugene H. Shannon who passed away in 1996.
Annette was born on April 24, 1921 in Franklin and was the daughter of the late John and Gladys (Shoup) Lawson. She had worked as a seamstress at Weldon’s and attended Faith Wesleyan Church. She was a very accomplished seamstress, was a very good cook, enjoyed trying new recipes and reading recipes. She also enjoyed gardening and arranging flowers, listening to music by the Gaithers, working word search puzzles, and was an avid reader. Even though she was optimistic and active her entire life, she did not enjoy housework.
Annette is survived by one daughter; Deborah “Debbie” Grove (Larry) of Montgomery, four grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, four brothers; William Lawson, Cletus Lawson, Sterling Keith Lawson and Richard Adrian Lawson and two sisters; Ethel Rockwell and Harriet Scoppa. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers; Charles Lawson, John Edward Lawson and Bernard Lawson.
There will be a public viewing 10 – 11 a.m. Thursday, August 23, 2018 at the Maneval Allen Redmond Cremation & Funeral Home, 500 West 4th St. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Reece officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Montgomery.
