B. Jane (Bohart) Mankey

B. Jane (Bohart) Mankey passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 in Williamsport, PA.

She was the only child of Mahlon O. and Lillian Mae Bohart born on March 22, 1924 in Trout Run, PA. She graduated from Ralston High School. 

She met and soon married John Laux Mankey on December 10, 1943.  He joined the Army Air Corps and they lived in various parts of the United States before returning to Williamsport, PA to raise a family.  They were married for 60 years before John passed away on November 26, 2003.

They raised six children:  Emily, David, Kae, Linda, Nina and Gary.  There are 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren.

John and Jane were faithful members of New Covenant UCC (formerly Immanuel Lutheran Church). Jane was a member of Clara Greevy Class and she participated in numerous church banquets cooking & serving meals and making decorations.

While raising her children, Jane also worked at several part time jobs including department stores and as a wedding consultant.

She and John were members of the American Motorcycle Association and American Legion Post 1. They enjoyed motorcycle riding and rode every chance they had.

John and Jane were part of the Greatest Generation. Together they had lots of talents and were great do-it-yourselfers. Most of their time was spent raising and participating in activities with their family. Jane loved reading, doing crossword puzzles, sewing and crafting.

A private service will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no visitation.  Interment will be at Wildwood Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Maneval Allen Redmond Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations may be made to a church or charity of your choice.
