Valarie Clay, Marilyn Carter and families,
My sincere sympathy on the loss of your mother. She and you were gifted to share so many years of life together. Imagine the time frame her life spanned: at 5 someone may have read the headlines to her of the near magic flight of Lucky Lindy to Paris. While at 47, she probably watched Armstrong and Aldrin walk on the moon. I would always ask elderly patients what their first, true childhood memories were. After pausing, their answers were usually specific and detailed. I expect you mom would have been much the same. From her picture you can see that you two are your mother's daughters. Within the last 14 months we too lost a 97 year old mother. The feelings of loss are universal, but life will move on. Of course there were tears, but eventually we celebrated her full life with the gusto it deserved. In your sorrow, I hope you too can find peace and even joy knowing her eternity is secure. Probably Brian has some stories to share in regards to his mother*in*law.
