WILLIAMSPORT - Charles “Rusty” Russell Hess, 68, passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at his home. Rusty and his wife Linda Kay (Wyland) celebrated 48 years of marriage on April 4th.
Rusty was born in Williamsport on March 17, 1950 and was the son of Herman H. and Nancy I. (Vought) Hess, Jr. of Loyalsock Twp. He graduated from Williamsport High School in 1968 and served with the US Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking and especially woodworking.
In addition to his parents and wife, Rusty is survived by two sons; Michael A. Hess (Michele) and Mark R. Hess (Stephanie Snyder), all of Cogan Station, three daughters; Patricia A. Wyland (Alan) of Williamsport, Cheryl Y. Hammond (James) of Williamsport and Shkana J. LaLuz (Martin) of Allentown, fifteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, three brothers; Gary Hess (Connie) of Jersey Shore, David Hess (Diane) of Montoursville and John Hess of Williamsport and one sister; Patricia Ault (Paul) of Williamsport. Rusty was preceded in death by one grandson; Marcus W.C. Hess.
There will be a memorial service held at City Alliance Church (Former First Baptist Church) in Williamsport on Saturday, April 14th at 2 PM, followed by a Life celebration at the South Williamsport Moose.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the STEP Endowment Fund, c/o STEP Inc., 2138 Lincoln St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
