WILLIAMSPORT - Donald Biber, 87, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the Valley View Nursing Center, Montoursville.
He was married to the late Sondra “Sandy” (Cohen) for 65 years at the time of her death on February 2, 2017.
Donald was born in Brooklyn on June 16, 1930 and was the son of the late Benjamin and Miriam R. Biber. He served with the US Army in Washington State during the Korean War. Donald graduated from Pace College in New York. He had worked at Wundies, Inc. (formerly Sybil Mills) as a CPA Controller for over 50 years and then retired. He was a member of Temple Beth Ha-Sholom, where he was on the board for many years. Donald was involved with Friends of the Court and consulted for SCORE. He enjoyed golfing, Penn State Football, Turner Classic Movies, but most of all, living for his grandchildren’s sporting events.
Donald is survived by two sons; Alan L. Biber (Sharon) of Williamsport and Steven J. Biber (Cindi) of Montoursville, one daughter; Rona B. Via (Thomas) of Williamsport, six grandchildren; Matthew (Jess), Jason (Mariela), Blair (Carl), Marissa, Samantha and Andrew, five great-grandchildren; Jeremiah, Sebastian, Joaquin, Aiden and Anthony and one sister; Ann Biber of Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
The family will have a gathering of family and friends at the Temple Beth Ha-Shalom, 425 Center St., Williamsport from 10 – 11, Monday, April 30, 2018 with the funeral service to begin at 11:00 a.m. Marvin Hurwitz will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Lycoming County Korean War Veterans.
In keeping with Jewish tradition, there will be no viewing or flowers, but memorial contributions may be made to the Temple Beth Ha-Sholom.
