Harriett B. (Brong) Bernier

Harriet B. Bernier, 99, of Williamsport, died on July 1, 2019.  Born October 24, 1919 in Syracuse, NY, she was the daughter of Dana Jacob Brong and Lula Sherman Brong.  In 1943 she married John Edward Bernier, with whom she enjoyed 46 years of marriage. She retired in 1980 from the PA Department of Health.  Harriett was a member of the Montoursville Presbyterian Church, she loved animals and volunteered at the Lycoming County SPCA, enjoyed swimming into her eighties, she was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed sewing and knitting, was an avid reader and loved watching Jeopardy. 

Harriett is survived by 1 son:  Dana Bernier (Sara) of Linden; a daughter:  Christine Walsh of Alexandria, VA; 4 grandchildren:  Kelly Loss (Christopher) of Alexandria, VA, Jennifer Schmidt (Ryan) of Lebanon, PA, Michelle Harstead (Richard) of Cogan Station, and Kristina Bernier of Williamsport; and 5 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister Charlotte.
