COGAN STATION - Jerome I. “Jerry” Walizer, 85, passed away Friday, March 22, 2019 at Manor Care North, Williamsport.
He was the husband of the late Sarah E. “Sally” (Scarborough) for 50 years until her death in 2008.
Jerome was born on November 17, 1933 in North Bend and was the son of the late William “Boop” and Helen V. (Gray) Walizer. He served with the US Army during the Korean War. He had worked at Dixon Contracting as a heavy equipment operator and retired in the early 1970’s. Jerome was a life member of the Disabled Veterans and life member of the Amvets Post 219 (Frackville) where he was also past 1st Vice Commander. He enjoyed hunting.
He is survived by one son; Joseph P. “Joe” Walizer of Cogan Station and two sisters; Gloria Thompson of Williamsport and Shirley Chambers of Philadelphia. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother; William M. “Bill” Walizer and two sisters; Anna Mae Savel and Eileen June Whine.
In keeping with Jerome’s wishes, there are no services.
