Marcia Ann Jackson, 68, of Williamsport, Pennsylvania passed away at home on Wednesday, May 9, 2018. Marcia was born on November 1, 1949, in Williamsport and was the daughter of the late Eldridge M. “Buddy” Jackson and Ola Lorraine (Stills) Jackson.
Marcia was a 1967 graduate of Williamsport Area High School. Upon graduation she was employed by AT&T as an Operator for over 15 years. She also was employed by Delta Galil before retiring in 2010.
Marcia was baptized at an early age at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Williamsport and later joined Shiloh Baptist Church where she was an active member of the Choir serving as president. She also served as the Church Financial Secretary.
Marcia was an avid Yankee Fan, loved to cook, read and watching Judge Judy and the Andy Griffith Show. In fact, when those shows were on, it was not a good time to call or visit. You would probably get shushed or told to be quiet. She had a fun loving spirit and for all who came in contact with her, it was always a special moment.
Marcia is survived by one brother, David “Randy” Jackson, of Norristown, PA; three sisters, Linda Jackson of Williamsport, PA, Dina Tuggle and Lela Fairfax both of Norristown, PA, two special sister cousins, Robin Stills of Williamsport and Angela Artis of New York City, and uncle, Wallace Jackson of New York City. Marcia was a “mother” in so many ways to a host of nieces and nephews and is also mourned by numerous cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased in death by sister, Karen L. Jackson.
Services will be on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 433 Walnut Street. Visitation 10:00am and Service 11:00am with Pastor Conrad Gibson officiating. Repass following in the Spurgeon East Fellowship Hall.
Arrangements are being handled by the Maneval Allen Redmond Cremation & Funeral Home, 500 West 4th St., Williamsport.
