WILLIAMSPORT - Martha Elizabeth Pierce Robinson went to join her husband, parents, and siblings at the throne of Jesus Christ on April 10, 2017.  Martha was under the care of Susquehanna Health Home Care and Hospice when she passed at 93 years of age.

Martha was born February 20, 1924 in Savannah, GA to the late Andrew H. and Lula B. Mallard Pierce.  She was educated in the segregated public schools of Savannah, GA.

Martha met her husband at a USO dance at Camp Stewart, GA.  They married three months later on June 18, 1943 and spent 53 years together before his passing.  She worked for the Susquehanna Health System as a nursing assistant for 32 years before retiring in 1986.  She continued with the health system as a dedicated volunteer in the pharmacy and delivering mail and flowers for more than 25 years.  She was a very active member of Bethel AME Church and the church mother for past nine years. Her favorite Bible verse was the 23rd Psalm which she loved to recite.  Martha enjoyed needlework, word games, senior citizen activities and her grand and great grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Richard L. Robinson, Jr., Houma, LA; Sharon R. Cashwell and Constance E. Robinson, Williamsport, PA; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 1 great great-grandchild.

Martha was predeceased by her husband Richard L. Robinson, Sr. (1997). Her parents Andrew (1935) and Lula B. (1988) Pierce; brother Andrew Pierce (1965); Joseph Pierce (1974); her twin sister Mary Alice Green (2009) and brother William Pierce (2010).

Funeral services will be held at Bethel AME Church, 601 Hepburn Street, beginning promptly at 9:30 a.m. on April 15, 2017.  Any memorial donations may be made in her name to Susquehanna Health Foundation, 1001 Grampian Blvd. Williamsport, PA; or the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (alzfdn.org); or to Bethel AME Church, 601 Hepburn Street, Williamsport, PA.
