HUGHESVILLE - Nancy J. (Ogden) Prowant, 86, a lifelong resident of DuBoistown, passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born in Clearfield on April 26, 1932 and was the daughter of the late William Roy and Mary (Zimmerman) Ogden.
She married her high school sweetheart, Phillip Prowant on August 31, 1951.
She attended Roosevelt Jr. High and graduated from Williamsport High School in 1950.
She was employed by Bell Telephone before becoming a full-time homemaker for her family.
She was a member of the Lycoming Presbyterian Church and St. Johns United Methodist Church in Newberry.
She was a round dance caller and square dancer with the Grand Squares, Susquehanna and Hanks and Woolrich Squares.
Her hobbies included caring for her immaculate gardens surrounding her home and pool, daily walks, neighborhood card club and teaching her grandchildren various card games.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Phillip Leroy Prowant and two sisters, Barbara (Ogden) Bernardi and Doris (Ogden) Wilcox.
She is survived by two sons, Michael L. Prowant (Lori) of S. Williamsport and Jeffrey S. Prowant (Kathleen) of Watsontown, one daughter, Denise G. Gatsche (Mark) of Hughesville, ten grandchildren; Lindsay Legler (Matthew), Zach Prowant (Mary), Ashley Wheeland (Gregory), Justine Gutierrez (Ricky), Brandon Gatsche (Ashley), Janelle Powers (Nicholas), Hanna Prowant, Abby Prowant, Danny Acri, Ben Acri and eight great-grandchildren, Carly Legler, Aubrey Legler, Luke Pearson, Natalie Pearson, Duran Gutierrez, Parker Gatsche, Londyn Gatsche and Brody Powers.
Services are private at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are being handled by the Maneval Allen Redmond Cremation & Funeral Home, 500 West Fourth Street, Williamsport.
