Robert W. Gohrs

Robert W. Gohrs, 80, of Williamsport passed away Monday March 12, 2018 at AristaCare at Loyalsock.

He was born on February 3, 1938 in Baltimore, MD, the son of William L. and Josephine S. (Martin) Gohrs.  He studied photography at several institutions, and worked as a medical photographer prior to opening Robert Gohrs Photography.  Robert enjoyed photography, whether working as a photographer, teaching photography at Williamsport Area Community College (WACC), or simply taking pictures for fun and family.  He originated the photography club at the Williamsport Hospital.  Robert was a life-long active member of the First Baptist Church of Williamsport until its closing.  More recently he attended the New Covenant United Church of Christ in Williamsport.  He enjoyed travelling, especially to the beaches in Delaware, and all of his interests and activities centered around his family.

Robert is survived by his wife Patricia, and two sons:  Robert V. Gohrs of Montoursville, and Joseph W. Gohrs of Broomfield, Colorado.  He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.

Friends and family are invited to a memorial service commemorating Robert’s life on Sunday March 18, 2018, visitation from 2-3pm and the service at 3pm, at the New Covenant United Church of Christ 202 East Third Street Williamsport, PA 17701, Rev. Bradley Walmer officiating.  The family will provide flowers, in lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to New Covenant United Church of Christ.
