SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT - Robert Isaac “Bob” Herzenberg, 74, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2019 at The Gatehouse at Divine Providence Hospital.
He was born July 30, 1945 in Brooklyn, New York and was the son of Lillian (Ebenstein) Herzenberg of Columbia, MD and the late Aaron Herzenberg.
Bob attended grammar and middle school in Long Island, NY before moving with his family to Williamsport in 1959. After graduating Williamsport High School in 1963, he went on to attend classes at Penn State University and Lycoming College. He served in the US Army Security Agency during the Vietnam War.
Upon retirement from an extensive career in Purchasing and Sales, Bob was active in local community service. He served on the Lycoming County Democratic Committee, South Williamsport Zoning Board and was a board member of Hope Enterprises.
Bob was an active and a long-term board member of Temple Beth Ha Sholom for over 30 years serving as Treasurer, Vice President and President.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife; Mary (Clinger), three daughters; Sara (Todd Leta) of Williamsport, Kimberly (Chris) Dickerson of Mountain View, CA and Alice (Scott) Stout of Warren, NJ, four grandchildren, one sister; Susan (Roy) Appletree of Columbia, MD, niece and nephew; Jennifer (Zach) Gamiel of Columbia, MD and Jacob (Annie) of Elliott City, MD.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 6, 2019 at the Maneval Allen Redmond Funeral Home, 500 West 4th St., Williamsport. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery. Officiating will be Marvin Hurwitz.

In keeping with Jewish tradition there will be no viewing or flowers.
