Roberta A. (Gingrich) Ingram, 86, of Loyalsock, gave up the fight on Friday, Dec. 14, 2018, at Valley View Nursing Center, Montoursville.
She was born in Williamsport on March 21, 1932, to the late Robert E. and Jenny Mae (Elliott) Gingrich.
Roberta was a lifetime member at Central Baptist Church. She graduated from Williamsport High School class of 1950. She worked as a library aide at the former Four Mile Elementary School for over 20 years. Roberta loved her position with the Loyalsock School District as the librarian reading many books and encouraging the children to read. She was a member of the Sweet Adelines and the Order of the Eastern Star. Roberta was also Den Mother for Cub Scouts and sang in the church choir for many years.
She loved vacations in Canada on the Big Rideau Lake; here she caught fish and took baths in the lake. She loved to travel and went on five cruises where she enjoyed playing in the casinos on the ships. She loved to bake cookies during the Christmas season. Roberta was very fond of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Roberta is survived by her loving husband, Harold M. Ingram, Loyalsock; two sons, Stephen C. Ingram, Williamsport, and Rev. Robert M. Ingram (Rebecca), Wichita, Kan.; a daughter, Linda K. Eck (Carl), Williamsport; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service for Roberta will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 19, at 10:30 a.m., at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1730 Four Mile Drive, Williamsport, with Rev. David Bixler, officiating. Refreshments will follow the service. A burial at Twin Hills Cemetery will be private at the convenience of the family.
