Obituary

WILLIAMSPORT - Albert L. Wilson, 85, passed away on Friday, November 6, 2015 at Manor Care South.  He was the husband of Doris M. (Jenkins-Horn) Wilson who survives. They were married November 29, 1959 and together they shared 56 years of marriage.

Albert was born May 18, 1930 in Williamsport, the son of the late Charles H. and Mabel L. (Banks) Wilson, Sr.  He graduated from Williamsport High School in 1949. Albert attended Ryder Business College and Lycoming College.

Albert was an U. S.  Air Force veteran having served during the Korean War. He was employed by the Commonwealth of PA for 33 years, as manager of liquid fuel auditing, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  Albert was very involved in missionary work.  He loved his children and his family very much.

Earlier in his life Albert received a Sports Hall of Fame Award from Bethune Douglass Community Center, and a PA Sports Hall of Fame Award of the West Branch Valley Chapter for football, basketball and track.  He also received the Lycoming County Bowling Association All Stars Hall of Fame Award.  Albert was past exalted ruler of the Edgar A. Stills Lodge #207 IBPOE and he was also a member of the Garret Cochran Post 1 American Legion of Williamsport.

Surviving in addition to his wife is his son Ricardo E. (Gina) Wilson of Columbus, OH; brother, Robert Walker (Doris), Williamsport; sister, Joanne Lockley, Hagerstown, MD. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Ricardo, Diana, Luther, Luthea, and Gerald.  Albert is furthered survived by nephews Charles, Victor (Kristine),  Robert, Ronald and Carl;  nieces Leslie, Susan, Carla and Sheala also his extended family Gerald Anderson, Sr., Carolyn and Charles Ferrell, Nancy Strothers, and Vicky, Terri, and Michael Kennedy.

Albert was preceded in death by his daughter, Tina L. Anderson; brothers, Charles H., Jr., William, Frederick, Leslie H. and Carl Wilson; and sister, Shirley Wright.

Friends and family are invited to Albert's Life Celebration on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 from 10-11 AM at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, with service to follow at 11:00 AM with Bishop Barry Hill officiating.  Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery.
