WILLIAMSPORT, PA - Annie Lee (Garvin) Ready, 98, formerly of Ridgeland, SC, passed away at her home in Williamsport on Saturday, March 17, 2018.

She was born on February 17, 1920 in Ridgeland, SC and was the daughter of the late Moses Edward and Geneva (Cohen) Garvin.  In her early years, she ran a farm for 12 years, worked as a mid-wife, worked in housekeeping in Boston and then housekeeping in Williamsport Hospital, retiring in 1987.

She was married to the late John H. Ready who had passed away January 27, 1988.

Annie was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Williamsport where she was active in Sunday School, ushers, missionaries, and working with children.  She was a Deaconess all of her life.  She was a member of the OME Club and the Eastern Star in South Carolina.  She enjoyed gardening, her pets, baking and visiting the sick.

Annie is survived by one daughter; Roberta Ready Harvey Jenkins of Williamsport, one grandson; Christopher A. Jenkins of Williamsport, six great-grandchildren, one brother; Edward Garvin (Estelle) of Macon, GA, two sisters-in-law; Rebecca Ready and Charlotte Garvin, both of Pineland, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers; Aaron, Henry, Nathan, Wesley and Isaiah Garvin and one sister; Sarah Merchant.

There will be a viewing 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, 527 Park Ave., Williamsport, where the funeral will begin at 12 (noon).

There will be another viewing 9 – 10 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Padgett Branch Baptist Church, 3311 Langfordville Rd., Ridgeland, SC where the funeral will be held 10:00 a.m.  Burial will follow in Rock Spring Cemetery, Gillisonville, SC.
