WILLIAMSPORT - Arthur L. Saunders, Jr., 72, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was married on June 16, 1973 to the former Candace A. "Candy" (Marshall), who survives, and they have shared 51 years as husband and wife.

Arthur was born on April 14, 1952 in Williamsport and was the son of the late Arthur L. and Edna (Snyder) Saunders, Sr.  He graduated from South Williamsport High School in 1971 and received his welding certificate from Williamsport Area Community College.  He had worked and retired from High Steel after over 40 years of service.  Arthur enjoyed ice fishing, playing poker, camping, going to the beach, going to the hunting cabin and loved the Eagles.  Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife Candy, he is survived by two sons; Arthur L. Saunders, III "A.J." (Staci) of S. Williamsport and Joshua M. Saunders (Megan) of Williamsport, one daughter; Shannon R. Silvis (Shawn M.) of Williamsport, three granddaughters; Lillian Silvis, Melanie Saunders and Violet Saunders and one sister; Mary Powell Kuna of North East, PA.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister; "Cookie" Harris.

In keeping with Arthur's wishes, services will be private at the convenience of the family.
