WILLIAMSPORT - Barbara Ann Smith, 88, passed away surrounded by her family at her residence early Wednesday morning, October 5, 2022.
She was born in East Stroudsburg on June 9, 1934, the daughter of Carl Edward and Elizabeth C. (Bender) Smith. She was a graduate of Williamsport High School and married William Allen Smith Sr. on October 10, 1953. He passed away on October 9, 2001.
Barbara was a Williamsport High School Secretary for over 30 years. She thoroughly enjoyed travelling with her husband and visiting the many lighthouses up and down the East coast and spending time with her family. She enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren participate in their many different activities. She loved to do ceramics, needlepoint and puzzles, many of which were out in full display for all to enjoy.
Her survivors include her 6 children, William Smith Jr. (Esther) of South Williamsport; Pamela Cupp (Gary Smith) of Montoursville; Susan LeBlanc (Glenn) of Porter, IN; John Smith (Lorraine) of Williamsport; Paula Lilley of Williamsport; and Diana Davenport (Wayne) of Plymouth.
Two brothers: Carl E. Smith Jr. of Duboistown and Nelson E. Smith of Milton.
Sixteen grandchildren: Harvey Smith, Clarence Smith, Wendy Pomeroy, Christopher Cupp, Billy Robinson, Jason Schipper, Brittney Read, Elizabeth Chernus, Taylor Smith, Justin Smith, Angela Lilley, Daniel Lilley, Tomas Prinzo, Josephine Prinzo, Sauni Davenport, and Coleman Davenport.
Twenty-Two Great Grandchildren: Courtney, Aiden, Zachary, Tylea, Zoey, Lyric, Emily, Ryan, Zayden, Zachary, Elliana, Theo, Ainsley, Rylin, Alivia, Dylan, L.J., Elijah, Sabrina, Zaedyn, Justin, and William – along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Ashley Cupp on February 22, 2019.
Barbara's Life Tribute Service will be held on Saturday evening at 8pm from the Maneval Allen Redmond Funeral Home located at 500 W. 4th Street with Retired Pastor Lou Gatti officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8pm that same evening before the service. Interment will be at her family's convenience on Monday in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Her Family suggests contributions be made to Susquehanna Hospice, 1100 Grampian Blvd, Williamsport, PA 17701.
