WILLIAMSPORT - Betty J. (Baney) Eckard, 74, died on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at her home.

She was married to the late Francis H. Eckard who had died in 2007 and they celebrated 58 years of marriage at the time of his death.

Betty was born on May 28, 1941 in Williamsport and was the daughter of the late Walter and Ada (Tubbs) Baney.  She was a dedicated homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.  She also enjoyed gardening, cooking and playing cards.

She is survived by one son; John Eckard and one daughter; Cathy Stutzman, both of Williamsport, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two brothers; Ronald Baney and Dean Baney, both of Williamsport and one sister; Inez "Sis" Confer of Loganton.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter; Tina M. Eckard, one grandson; Blair S. Eckard, two brothers; Walter J. Baney and Blair Baney and two sisters; Marua Lou Baney and Donna Baney.

A memorial service will be held at a later date and time.

Arrangements are being handled by the James C. Maneval Funeral Home, Ltd., 500 West 4th St., Williamsport.
