WILLIAMSPORT - Carol L. (Thorne) Benson, 66, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at UPMC Williamsport.

She was born on January 15, 1957 in Taunton, Massachusetts and was the daughter of the late Charles and Madeline (Machado) Thorne.  Carol had worked as a nurse at Sycamore Manor and she enjoyed puzzle books and puzzles.

Carol is survived by one son; Michael A. Benson of Williamsport, one daughter; Lena J. Carr of Williamsport, three grandchildren; Adrianna, Abrielle and Carson, all of Williamsport and one brother; Robert Thorne of New Port, Rhode Island.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers; Stanley, Danny, Dennis and Terry Thorne.

In keeping with Carol's wishes, services will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lycoming County SPCA, 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA  17701.

Arrangements are being handled by Maneval Allen Redmond Funeral Home, 500 W. 4th St., Williamsport.
