WILLIAMSPORT - Catherine E. "Kay" (Husselton) Gibson, 67, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at her home.

She was married to William F. Gibson, who survives, on December 27, 1975 and they have celebrated 41 years as husband and wife.

Catherine was born on November 17, 1949 in Lock Haven and was the daughter of the late Augustus and Alma (Pluff) Husselton.  She graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1967, then graduated from Lock Haven University and then graduated from Penn State University with a Masters in Elementary Education.  She had worked for 3 years at the Lock Haven Elementary School then worked for the Williamsport School District for 37 years and retired in June of 2012.  She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and Sigma Kappa Sorority in Lock Haven.  In her spare time, she enjoyed running and sewing.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter; Erin G. Penick (Shane) of Harrisburg, two grandchildren; Avery C. and Ian W. Penick and one brother; Augustus Husselton (Yukari) of Harrisburg.

There will be a gathering of family and friends for a time of remembrance 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at the Maneval Allen Redmond Cremation & Funeral Home, 500 West 4th St., Williamsport.  All other services will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
