Obituary

Craig E. Motter, 64, passed away on April 15, 2025, at his home. Born a "Crick Rat" on July 13, 1960, in Williamsport, Craig always came back to the same Olde Motter Homestead that he ultimately made his permanent home with his wife, Susan. Together they could always be found in the yard with him on his mower or some other equipment. Craig's journey was as solid as the foundations he laid at Motter Builders, the family business he proudly owned and operated with Susan.

Craig's life was a masterclass in balancing work and play. While he was known for his hardworking and stubborn nature—traits that served him well in the construction industry—his true joy came from his family. As the best PapPap, Craig's heart was as big as his toolbox when it came to his beloved grandchildren. His love for them was only rivaled by his affection for his five dogs, who were undoubtedly the most spoiled pups in Williamsport.

In his younger years, Craig could be found roaring down the open road on his motorcycle, with Susan holding on behind him, both of them enjoying the wind in their hair and the freedom of day rides. Their love story, which began in 2010 and culminated in marriage on June 27, 2024, was one for the books—unique, fierce, and full of love.

Craig is preceded in death by his father, Carl Motter, Sr., his brother George Motter, brother-in-law, Michael Jenkins, and his beloved dog, Davidson, who is surely wagging his tail at their reunion.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, survived by his devoted wife, Susan Motter; his mother, Ruth Ann, and stepfather, Thorton "Woody" Woodward; his daughters Meagan (Billy) Reighard, Morgan Motter, Autumn (Andrew) Roan, Natasha (Brent) Klemick, and Aleisha (Dillon) Myers; son, Alexander Myers; and nine adored grandchildren. His brothers, Carl Motter, Jr. and Jeff (Caroline) Motter, along with sisters Chris Jenkins and Lynelle (Rick) Whitaker, and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

A celebration of Craig's life will take place from 12pm-2pm on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the Crippled Bear, located at 2967 Lycoming Creek Rd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
