COGAN STATION - Donald R. Kleese, Jr., 82, of Cogan Station, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017 at his home; a loving father and grandfather who was taken from this earth before his time. He was born in Williamsport, June 14, 1934, the son of the late Donald R. and Helen A. (Mulberger) Kleese, Sr.

Donald graduated from Williamsport High School in 1952 and studied music at Lycoming College. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1956 and served his country until 1960.  Donald married Beverly A. (Wheeland), Nov. 23, 1957, they shared 55 years of marriage until her passing on Jan. 26, 2013.  He was employed as an inspector for Textron, also known as Lycoming Engines and Avco.  After his retirement, Donald worked part-time for JR Judd Violins in Williamsport.  Donald was a member of the Trinity Gospel Church and was very interested in studying the Bible.  He was an avid bicyclist, loved to read and enjoyed wood carving; making furniture with very intricate patterns and also made his own gun stocks.  Donald was a very active man, he loved to hunt, fish and hike. He was very passionate about writing "Letters to the Editor" about creation.

Donald is survived by four daughters, ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; one brother, three sisters, one son in law and one sister in law.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by one brother and one son in law.

Family and friends are welcome to attend a visitation, Saturday, April 22, 2017, beginning at 4:00 pm at the Maneval Allen Redmond Funeral Home, Ltd., 500 West 4th Street, Williamsport; a memorial service will be held at 5:30 pm with Pastor Joel Henderson officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in the Quaker Hill Cemetery.
