Doris Harriet Levinson, 91, of Kingston, formerly of Williamsport, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 30, 2024, at Allied Services Hospice, Wilkes-Barre. She was born in Philadelphia on May 24, 1933, the only child of the late Harry and Pearl (Green) Nach.
Doris was a devoted member of Ohev Sholom Synagogue where she was part of the Sisterhood. She diligently helped prepare and set up for all Sisterhood activities. Doris worked as a secretary for WCLA Philadelphia television station and retired as a wife and homemaker. Every year, Doris would plant a beautiful garden with the help of her daughters. She like to can her harvest of vegetables and made the best pasta sauce.
Doris was a member of the Notre Dame Locker Room Club and attended many Phillies baseball games with her late husband, William. She was a great friend to many and often offered wise and intelligent counsel that included valuable life advice. Above all, Doris loved to uplift, support and spend time with her family, even helping her daughter graduate from Empire Beauty School. A beloved and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Doris was extra special and will be dearly missed.
Left to cherish Doris's memory are two daughters, Rachel Pearl Levinson and Mindy Louise Kline (Sanford), both of Kingston; a son, Harris Joseph Levinson of Williamsport; two grandchildren, Travis Michael English and Danielle Leona Colver; and two great grandsons, Jason Bower and Kaius Colver.
In addition to her parents, Doris is preceded in death by her loving husband of 30 years, William Levinson, who passed away on October 11, 1990.
The funeral service for Doris will be held at 2:30pm on Sunday, October 6, 2024, at Maneval Allen Redmond Cremation and Funeral Home, 500 W. Fourth St., Williamsport with Rabbi Kaplan officiating. Burial will follow in Ohev Sholom Cemtery, Montoursville.
