Edward A. Vavra of Williamsport, passed away on Friday, November 7, 2025, at the age of 79.

After serving in the United States Air Force from 1968-1972, he continued his education and pursued a doctorate degree in English and Russian Literature at Cornell University. For nearly 42 years, he taught college English at Shenandoah University and Pennsylvania College of Technology and retired in 2017.

Edward is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Toni; his son Paul Vavra of Williamsport; a sister and brother-in-law, Roxanne and Bill Anderson of New York State.

A most sincere thank you to all those at UPMC Hospital, Palliative Care, and Edenbrook North who worked so very hard in caring for "Mr. Ed".

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Maneval Allen Redmond Cremation and Funeral Home, Williamsport.
