WILLIAMSPORT - Elizabeth E. "Betty" (Miller) Frey, 92, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Rose View Center, surrounded by her loving family.
She was married to the late Robert C. Frey Sr. on April 23, 1948 and celebrated 62 years of marriage before his death in 2010.
She was a member of Balls Mill United Methodist Church.
Elizabeth was born on December 25, 1923 in Williamsport , the daughter of the late William M. and Helen M. (Kelley) Miller. She graduated from Williamsport High School in 1942. She had worked at the Brodart Company then retired from the Lycoming County Meals-On-Wheels as Center Director.
She also was past Matron (multiple years) Order of the Eastern Star, Watsontown Chapter #232, past officer; Order of the Amaranth, Tiadaghton #136, member of Williamsport Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, past Mother Advisor; Williamsport Assembly #49, International Order of Rainbow for Girls, past president (multiple years) Grottoettes, Zafar Grotto Rafaz Club, Inc., past officer of Women's Auxiliary; Leroy O. Buck Post 7863, Veterans of Foreign Wars, past president (multiple years) Golden Oak Chapter; American Business Women's Association, American Business Women's Association "Woman of the Year", past president Duboistown Garden Club, past Den Mother; Boy Scouts of America, past Troop Leader; Girl Scouts of America and past PTA President. She was an avid bowler, crafter and former seamstress.
Elizabeth is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; Robert C. (Mary) Frey, Jr. of Williamsport and Keith F.(Tina) Frey of Harrisburg, one daughter; Susan E. English of Williamsport, seven grandchildren; Shawnalee Miller, Karen Regal, Christopher Frey, Kristy Bower, Jason English, Daniel Frey and Katie Lakes, 18 great-grandchildren and two sisters-in-law; Rose Miller of Granville, Mass and Louise Weinhardt of Williamsport. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased in death by two brothers; Henry F. Miller and William M. Miller, Jr.
The graveside service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 18, 2016 at Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy with Pastor Christopher Pfleegor officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 3001 Gettysburg Rd., Camp Hill, PA 17011.
