WILLIAMSPORT - Eugene A. Young, Sr., 88, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at UPMC Williamsport surrounded by his family.

He was born August 13, 1936 in Williamsport and was the son of the late William Young.  He had worked at Wire Rope, Trimtex and Plankenhorn over the years.  He had served with the National Guard and was a member of the Moose and the Democratic Club.  He had a love for animals.

Eugene is survived by one son; William C. Young (Lisa Rook) of Williamsport, two daughters; Yvonne L. Fredin (Raymond Lewis) and Teresa J. Minnick (Glenn), all of Williamsport, eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one great-great grandson, one sister; Mary Young of Williamsport, three step children; Robin A. Kriner (Arthur) of Jersey Shore, Blanche M. Boarts (Ron) of Erie and Bryan R. Reese (Carla) of Boise, Idaho, 15 step grandchildren and 19 step great grandchildren.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife; Arlene E. (Willits) Young in 2010, two sons; Eugene A. Young, Jr. and George A. Young, one daughter; Leona S. Pena, one brother; Ray Young and three step children; Frank E. Reese, Faye E. Reese and David H. Reese.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
