("Butch") Gross, Jr.
November 23, 1934 – October 26, 2021
Freeman (Butch) N. Gross, Jr. 86, of Allenwood, went to his heavenly home, Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021. He was born Nov. 23, 1934, the son of the late Freeman, Sr. and Dorothy (Bower) Gross.
Butch spent most of his working life in the construction industry and was the manager of A. M. Sheet Metal Company from the company's inception until his retirement in 1997. He attended the Faith Wesleyan Church since 1985. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing, being an avid golfer and a member of the White Deer Golf Course for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth A. (Shoemaker);, a son, Kenneth L. Gross (Wendy), of Berwick and a daughter, Lori A. Rauch (Doug), of Montoursville, a stepson, Dennis Shoemaker (Susan), of Montoursville and a stepdaughter, Erin Shoemaker, of Harrisburg; also seven grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters, Connie Abele, of Williamsport, Janet Mack (Dwight), of Toccoa, GA and Rebecca DeClearck (Doug), of Hughesville.
Butch was preceded in death by his first wife, Janet L. (Weasner) Gross, a daughter, Robin L. Kinney and a brother, William D. Gross.
Services for Butch will be Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021, at Faith Wesleyan Church, 1033 Tucker Street, Williamsport, beginning with a visitation 9 AM to 11 AM followed by a memorial service officiated by Reverend Timothy Hartzell at 11 AM. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family
