MONTOURSVILLE - Gerald W. "Jerry" Roman, 69, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2016 at his residence.

He was married to the former Sherry J. "Jill" (McElheny), who survives,  on September 7, 1967 and have celebrated 48 years as husband and wife.

Jerry was born on June 16, 1946 in Patton and was the son of the late George and Marie (Prevost) Roman.  He had graduated from Loyalsock High School, graduated from Mansfield University with a Bachelors of Arts, graduated from Bloomsburg University with his Masters and graduated from Bucknell University with his Principal Certification.  He had taught Social Studies at Montoursville McCall Middle School for 33 years and retired from there.  He had coached football and soccer, enjoyed woodworking and was a huge Penn State and Pittsburgh Steeler Fan.  Most of all, he was family oriented.

In addition to his wife Jill, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law; Edward J. "Ed" and Jennifer Roman of Lewisburg, two daughters; Amy M. Roman and Stacey L. Roman, both of Loyalsock Twp., four grandchildren; Joseph Alexander Roman, Jacob Morris Roman, Hannah Roman Rankey and Joshua Edward Rankey and one sister-in-law; Yvonne Roman of Duncannon.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers; Morris, George and Henry Roman.

The private graveside service was held Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at the Montoursville Cemetery with Pastor Rick Waters officiating the service.
