Obituary

RENOVO - Formerly of Maryland - Gloria Jean Romesburg, age 68, passed away suddenly on Monday June 8, 2020 at UPMC Williamsport, PA after suffering a fall that ultimately took her life.

Lovingly known as Sis or Sissy, she was born June 21, 1951 in Oakland, MD.  After graduating Sparrows Point High School in 1971, she went on to pursue a career in the food service industry starting at Wolfe's Restaurant in North Point Village working alongside her mother, before later working at the famous Double T Diner in Rosedale, MD. She was running a food service business at Johns Hopkins Bayview when she suffered a disabling stroke.

Sissy lived most of her life in Dundalk, MD. Later she moved to Rosedale before ultimately retiring to Renovo, PA with her best friends. There she spent the remaining 18 years of her life in the quiet town of South Renovo overlooking the Susquehanna River.

Sissy loved games, coloring, and word search puzzles. She also enjoyed catalog shopping.  Sissy never married or had any children.

Sis is survived by her brother, Ronald Romesburg and niece, Tonya Romesburg and her husband, Jeff Peyton, all of Baltimore, MD. Also surviving is her friend and caretaker, Wayne Stickles of Renovo, PA.  Sissy was preceded in death by her parents, Richard & Betty Romesburg and her lifelong friend, Beatrice Stickles.

There will be no services due to COVID-19. Interment will be private at Holly Hill Memorial Gardens in Baltimore, MD.
