Helen A. Ertel, 95, formerly of Williamsport, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2026, surrounded in spirit and love by her family in Lincoln Park, Michigan. She was born in Williamsport on February 12, 1931, a daughter of the late Emmett and Grace (Miller) Reynolds.

Helen attended Montgomery High School. A lifelong worker, her career spanned many different places, including Montgomery Mills, L.L. Stearns, and as an office secretary for her husband’s business, Ertel Plumbing and Heating. She attended Bethel Baptist Church in Southgate, Michigan and Greenview Alliance Church in Montoursville, Pennsylvania in her younger years. Helen married the late Howard Ertel on June 15, 1972. She lived in the Williamsport area for most of her life and moved to Michigan at age 79 to be close to her daughter, Joy, and young grandchildren. Helen enjoyed watching Hallmark movies, reading, talking with her friends, and Bible study every morning.

Helen is survived by two children, Joy Jordan (Paul) of Lincoln Park, Michigan; and Jim Lundy of Hughesville; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren; a sister, Lulabelle Coolidge of Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband of over 35 years, Howard, Helen is preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Reynolds and daughter-in-law, Patrice Lundy.

A service to celebrate Helen’s life will be held at 7pm on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Maneval Allen Redmond Cremation and Funeral Home, 500 W. Fourth St., Williamsport. Family and friends are invited to attend a public viewing from 5pm until the time of the service on Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be held at 10am on Monday, September 21, 2026, in Wildwood Cemetery. Please meet at the funeral home by 9:30am to go in procession to the cemetery.

Donations may be made in Helen’s name to Bethel Baptist Church of Southgate at 13330 Trenton Rd., Southgate, MI 48195.
