James H. Banks, Sr., 82, of Williamsport, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024, at UPMC Williamsport. He was born on Feb. 6, 1942, in Mill Hall to the late James H. Banks and Mary (Keister) Klopp. James worked at Muncy Homes and Eastern Woods. He was an avid hunter and liked to garden. James had a talent for woodworking, making beautiful furniture. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and his dogs. James is survived by a daughter, Nancy (David) Fry of Williamsport; three stepdaughters, Kim Pepperman of Salladasburg; Wendy Hamilton and Ronda Weigle both of Williamsport; 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Sweeting of Williamsport; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by a son, James H. Banks, Jr., two daughters, Danette and Lisa Banks; and five brothers and sisters. A memorial service for James will be held at 11am on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at Maneval Allen Redmond Cremation and Funeral Home, 500 W. Fourth St., Williamsport. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 10am until the time of the service at 11am at the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
