James M. Hazel Jr., a beloved resident of Williamsport, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on May 3rd, 2023 at the Williamsport Home. He was 80 years old.

Born on April 23, 1943 he was the son of James and Hettie (Andrews) Hazel. On February 13, 1965 he married the love of his life, Betty (Peterson) Hazel.

James was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church, as well as the Elks Lodge. He was also a talented singer with the Williamsport Temptations. His favorite thing to do was to spend his time watching sports, especially basketball.

James will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind his wife, Betty; his children, Tina Louise Quonies (Chester, VA), Jamie Evonne Washington (Hopewell, VA); his grandchildren, Tamara & Lance Rhodes, Javon & Jania Washington; and sisters, Jackie Thompson, Rena McDonald, and Diane Harris

Services are private, at the convenience of the family. Maneval Allen Redmond Funeral Home has been entrusted with his arrangements.
