WILLIAMSPORT - Josephine "Jo" S. Taylor, 65, of Williamsport, passed away at her son's home, Tuesday, February 21, 2017. She was born August 4, 1951 in Baltimore, MD, the daughter of Raymond L. Jones and Vivian K. Murray.
"Jo" was a high school graduate with an Associates Degree in Marketing. She had been employed for 28 years by Pennsylvania College of Technology, Williamsport as a Marketing Specialist and was still employed there up until the time of her death. "Jo" loved her work and enjoyed brainstorming with her colleagues; coming up with business ideas. "Jo" enjoyed traveling and took a trip every year with her friends, as long as she was able to drive her beloved Chrysler 300. Josephine was very articulate and known for her writing and gave many private English classes for friends and family. She was an avid Bingo player and she loved her family, who knew her as "Phine" very much and she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
"Jo" is survived by her son, Allen V. (April) Taylor, Jr. of Williamsport; two grandchildren, Shyla M. and Allen "Trevan" Taylor; a great grandchild Kyir A. Mims; a brother Sydney T. Murray of Wilmington DE.; 2 nephews, Christopher Stephen Cooper of Norfolk VA, CJ Bryant of Durham, NC and a niece, Lauren Murray of Wilmington, DE. "Jo" is also survived by a very special close friend, Margot Briggs of Williamsport.
"Jo" was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Susie A. Cooper.
Services will be held at the Antioch Baptist Church, 514 High Street, Williamsport,
Monday, February 27, 2017 at 11 AM, there will be a visitation for family and friends from 10 AM to the start of the service. Pastor Sam Washington will be officiating. Burial will be at Silverbrook Cemetery, Wilmington DE, Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 1PM.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Josephine's memory to Celtic Hospice, 500 Pine Street, Suite 3, Williamsport, PA 17701.
Arrangements are being handled by Maneval Allen Redmond Funeral Home, Ltd., 500 West 4th Street, Williamsport.
