Larry R. Maneval

Larry R. Maneval, 88, of Woolrich, passed away at home on July 23, 2026.

Larry was born May 12, 1938 in Williamsport, PA. He was a son of Raymond and Mildred Maneval. Larry was a graduate of South Williamsport Area High School in the class of 1956. He served in the United States Air Force from 1957-1960 as a Radio Dispatcher and continued his service in the Air Force Reserves from 1960-1963. Next, Larry graduated from Lycoming College with a degree in education and later obtained his Master’s degree in education.

In his education career, Larry taught at several schools in Keystone Central School District including Loganton, Salona, the former St. Agnes Catholic School, Flemington, and Mill Hall Elementary Schools. He taught both regular and special education students throughout his 32 years of teaching, retiring as a 6th grade teacher from Mill Hall Elementary School.

Throughout his life, Larry was an avid outdoorsman and hunter being a lifetime member of Roaring 30’s Rod and Gun Club. In retirement, he was a passionate gun collector with extensive knowledge of all firearms, regularly called upon for his knowledge and ability to build, repair, and recondition any type of firearm. In addition, Larry was an excellent marksman and participated in local rifle leagues. He spent much time traveling with his wife Ann to Montana and Wyoming for both hunting and pleasure and owned a cabin in Cooke City, Montana with his brother.

Surviving are daughters Sheri Ruffing(Bill) and Christine Maneval. He is also survived by grandchildren Marissa Blaise(Tyler), McKenzie Ott(Cameron), and Tessa Troup(Sean), and great-grandchildren, Carly, Kayson, Kylan, Collins, Valerie, Aiden, Peyton, and soon-to-be baby Ott; sister Connie Bilby(Andy) and brother Jerry Maneval; nieces Renee Hite(George), Cindy Weber (Charlie), Stacy Miller(Joe) and nephew Ray Bilby(Karen). He is also survived by several great-nieces and nephews. Larry is lovingly remembered as an exceptional father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will forever be in our hearts.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Ann Tule Maneval.

A celebration of Larry’s life will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Faith United Methodist Church, 700 Fairview Dr., Montoursville, with Pastor Larry Leland officiating. Friends may call from 9:00am-10:00 am Thursday at the church. Burial will follow with full military honors in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.
