WILLIAMSPORT - Leonard C. “Lenny” Wright, Jr., 85, passed away Friday, January 23, 2026 at UPMC Williamsport.

Lenny was married on May 24, 1959 to the late Annie Belle Novella (Carroll) for 51 years until the time of her death on January 21, 2011.

He was born on September 8, 1940 in Williamsport and was the son of the late Leonard C. and Anna (O’Brien-Brown) Wright, Sr. Lenny graduated from Williamsport Area High School in 1958 and then enlisted in the US Airforce. He had worked and retired from Lewisburg Prison and then General Motors and retired from there. He had worked at HOPE Enterprises. Lenny was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had belonged to the bowling league with his late wife. He was a member of the Williamsport Corvette Club and NAACP. He enjoyed “all” sports, Harley Davidsons, traveling and music.

Lenny is survived by two sons; Leonard C. Wright, III (Robin) of Salisbury, MD and Lynell A. Wright (Donna) of Williamsport, three daughters; Penny Ann Best of Tacoma, WA, Sondra Jo Singh of Picture Rocks and Nancy Fera (Doug) of Greenville, SC, 18 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, one great-great grandson, two brothers; Carl Wright and Keith Wright (Brenda), all of Williamsport, six sisters; Lenora Cobb, Jacqueline Walker (Grady), Stephanie Coffey (Thomas), Debra Stahl, Dianne Wright and Kimberly Thomas-West (Ken), all of Williamsport and caregiver/friend; Melody Bowers of Williamsport and her children; Michelle Houtz (Gary) and Mark Bowers (Kerri). In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers; Michael, Richard and Frederick Wright and one sister; Ruth Ruby.

There will be a memorial service held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 31, 2026 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 82 Rader Ave., Cogan Station, PA 17728.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org) or to a charity of one’s choice.
