Lorraine M. (Gortner) Ross, 90

Lorraine M. (Gortner) Ross passed away Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Heritage Springs Memory Care Montoursville.  Born and raised in Pennsdale, PA she was the daughter of the late Donald and Marguerite(Artley) Gortner.

Lorraine graduated from Muncy High School in 1952 along with her twin sister Loretta.  In 1963 she married Julian L. Ross and together they enjoyed 59 years of marriage living in Loyalsock Township.  Throughout her life she worked for several employers, notably Lycoming Engines and GTE Sylvania.   She enjoyed gardening and was especially fond of decorating her home for Christmas.  Her favorite activity was spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her son Frederick C. (Susan) Ross of Towson, MD, and grandchildren Charlotte B. and Frederick J. Ross of Towson, MD.  She is also survived by a sister Donna Stroup and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her parents, sisters Ernestine Seitzinger, Shirley Hofer, Loretta Myers, Mary Louise Gortner, brother Frederick Gortner, husband Julian Ross and son Christian Ross.

A memorial service will be held at Maneval Allen Redmond Funeral Home, 500 W. 4th St., Williamsport on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 11:00 am.  In lieu of flowers, memorial  contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
