MONTGOMERY - M. Joanne (Dobson) Engel, 82, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at her residence on Friday, January 8, 2016.

She was married to Harold J. Engel, who survives, on May 4, 1957 and has celebrated 58 years as husband and wife.

She was born on May 28, 1933 in Williamsport and was the daughter of the late Claude and B. Alice (Waldeisen) Dobson.  She was a dedicated wife and mother who was an avid bingo and slot machine player.

In addition to her husband Harold, she is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law; Christy A. and James DeRemer, Jr. of Montgomery and Cathy L. Engel of S. Williamsport, three grandchildren; Mathew T. Koch of Montgomery, Jennifer M. Stein of Lancaster and Michael J. Stein of Montoursville; currently stationed in Hawaii and one great-grandson; Jace Allen Thomas Koch.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are being handled by James C. Maneval Funeral Home, Ltd., 500 W. 4th St., Williamsport.
