"Nancy" (Graham) Powell
March 18, 1954 – February 23, 2025
WILLIAMSPORT - Mable R. Powell, affectionately known as Nancy, entered eternal rest on February 23, 2025, at UPMC Williamsport, at the age of 70. Born on March 18, 1954, in Dillon, South Carolina, and grew up in Fairbluff, NC. She moved to Philadelphia in the late 60s before she moved to Williamsport in the mid-90s. Mable lived a life full of love, faith, and dedication to her family.
Mable was a beacon of kindness and generosity, always eager to lend a helping hand. Her commitment to serving others shone brightly through her active participation in church activities and her tireless work with local food banks. Her compassionate spirit touched many lives, leaving behind a legacy of selflessness and grace.
Among her many passions, Mable found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She delighted in the thrill of scratch-off lottery tickets and took immense pride in maintaining a clean and welcoming home. Her love for music was evident in her admiration for Smokey Robinson, with her favorite song being "Cruise With Me Baby." Above all, Mable cherished the bond she shared with her family, especially her best friend and son, Alex.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Rosa Lee (Almond) Graham; two brothers, Willie "Junebug" Graham Jr. and Larry Graham; and two sisters, Nomie Graham and Dorothy Lee Graham.
Mable leaves behind a loving family who will forever hold her memory in their hearts: ; her daughter, Victoria (John) McKee of Williamsport; her five sons, Edward Powell of Williamsport; Curtis Powell of Georgia; Alexander Powell of Williamsport; Joshua Powell of Philadelphia; and Jeramiah Ulysses of Philadelphia; her cherished grandchildren, Courtney Powell, Barbara Cook, Irvin Cook, Ebony Powell, and Gianna Powell; and her adored great-grandchildren, Tazmear, Za'Novia, Yah'Lani, Za'Layah, Amani, and Avaria. She is also survived by her siblings, Judy, Jerry, Angela and Sam Graham; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Maneval Allen Redmond Cremation and Funeral Home, 500 W. Fourth St., with Pastor Marwin C. Reeves, Jr. officiating. Family and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Saturday from 2 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Mable's name to Sojourner Truth Ministries at 501 High St., Williamsport, PA 17701, or to a food bank of your choice.
Mable's warmth, laughter, and unwavering love will be deeply missed.
