WILLIAMSPORT - Marie Martin, Mom, Grammy, MeMe, 91, of Williamsport and the Presbyterian Home died April 9 at the Gatehouse surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Liberty PA on July 8, 1925, the daughter of the late Frank O. and Helen I. (Dartt) Johnson.  She was the widow of Darwyn C. Martin who passed away in 1992.  They celebrated 50 years of marriage.

Marie is survived by two daughters, Nancy  A. (William) Dorman of Picture Rocks and Jane L. (Thomas) Bixler of Williamsport, a son Richard (Cynthia) Martin of The Villages, Florida, six grandchildren:  Daniel, James, Richard, Jason, Jessica and Thomas and eleven great grandchildren.  She is also survived by a sister, June Donnell, of Florida and a special niece, Kathy Stiber, of South Williamsport.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Evelyn Olson, and a long-time companion, Norman Auker.

Marie was born and grew up on a farm but later moved to Williamsport where she lived the rest of her life.  She was a long-term member of St. Paul –Calvary United Methodist Church in Williamsport, attending since 1939.

Marie enjoyed gatherings and cooking for her family.  Earlier in life she was an avid bowler and was  inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame in 2010.  But, her passion was her garden and her roses and sharing her flowers and roses with loved ones.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Presbyterian Home for making it "home" for Mom for almost the past six years.

Reverend George Spencer will conduct services at 12 noon at the Maneval Allen Redmond Funeral Home, 500 West Fourth Street, Williamsport, on Wednesday, April 12, 2017. Friends are invited to a visitation prior to the service starting at 11 am.  Burial will follow at the Montoursville Cemetery.

The family will provide the flowers.  Contributions may be made in memory of Marie to the Presbyterian Home at Williamsport, 810 Louisa Street, Williamsport, PA 17701 to Community Life Programs.
