SUNBURY - Marilyn J. Ireland, 66, of Sunbury, formerly of Montoursville, passed away March 3, 2018 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

She was born on January 18, 1952 in Harrisburg and was the daughter of the late Harold G. and Hettie R. (Renker) Ireland.  She was a graduate of Penn State University where she earned her Bachelors of Science in Art Education.  She taught art in the Mechanicsburg Area School District for 1 ½ years then taught in the Montoursville Area School District for 7 ½ years.  Marilyn loved to sew, sketch, work, cook, music, movies and cats.  She helped with the Community Theater League.  She was a "unique actress".

Marilyn is survived by one aunt; Melva Finan of Cleveland, OH, best friend; Michelle Matthews of Coal Twp., angel; Karen M. Wasilewski of Paxinos and many friends.

There will be a gathering of family and friends 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Maneval Allen Redmond Cremation & Funeral Home, 500 West 4th St., Williamsport where the memorial service will be held 12:00 p.m.  Pastor Gary Runtas will officiate the service.  Burial services will be private.
