TROUT RUN - Marjorie Fell, 93, passed away on December 24, 2016.  She was born in Elmira, NY September 8, 1923 and was raised in Trout Run, Pa.

After graduating as Valedictorian of her Jersey Shore High School class she attended Katherine Gibbs in New York city. Returning home, she worked some years for Lundy Lumber before joining her brother and his family in Washington, D.C. where she worked for the State Department.

In 1950 she went to work in London for the State Dept.  She spent six years there where she met her future husband, John Fell. She travelled extensively there in Europe and in 1957 married John and they returned to Trout Run to live.  John was an artist and teacher and took a position at Elmira Free Academy.  They lived there until 1980 when they retired to her old family home in Trout Run.

Marjorie and John enjoyed their lives there with an active life in art, gardening, entertaining & reading and films.  Marjorie volunteered for a number of years at the James Brown Library and maintained an active reading schedule.  Most recently she had resided at Elmcroft where she continued her interests in films, reading and friend. She had a great love of animals and supported them widely.  In all of this she fulfilled the wish expressed in her sampler, "I should like to live by the side of the road and be a friend to man."

She is survived by her nephew, Peter Clendenin, his wife, Karen and their children; and her niece, Lucinda Scott, her husband Reynold and their children.

Donations may be made to the Trout Run Fire Department and the James Brown Library.

Services will be private.  Arrangements are being handled by the Maneval Allen Redmond Cremation & Funeral Home, 500 W. 4th St., Williamsport.
