Obituary

Marlene J. (Vaughn) Gaskins, 88, of Williamsport, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2025 at The Gatehouse, Williamsport.

She was married to the late Jimmy Gaskins for 47 years at the time of his death in May 2002.

Marlene was born on June 27, 1936 in Williamsport and was the daughter of the late William L. and Lillian Juanita (Maneval) Vaughn (Rowskosky).  She had worked for Sylvania of Montoursville and retired in 1989.  She was a member of Faith Alliance Church, where she was an active member that taught Sunday school, church choir and chairperson of the missions.  She volunteered at Rose View Center and the lab at Williamsport hospital.  Marlene loved baseball and little league.  She enjoyed working with people and babysitting.  She was also a former member of Moncks Corner United Church in South Carolina where she lived for eight years.

Marlene is survived by one daughter; Sharon P. Gaskins of Williamsport. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers; Robert L. Vaughn and Thomas W. Vaughn and two sisters; Carol A. Kohl and Shirley E. Kopko.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no services.

Burial will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
