JERSEY SHORE - Martha P. (Williamson) Evens, 87, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2019 at her residence.

She was married on June 2, 1951 to the late Earl F. Evens for 59 years until his death in 2010.

Martha was born in Avis on September 5, 1932 and was the daughter of the late Earl and Esther (Schlesinger) Williamson.  She graduated from Williamsport High School, class of 1951.  She was a dedicated homemaker and was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church, Williamsport.  She enjoyed reading her bible, reading, word searches and taking care of her family.

Martha is survived by three sons; Dwight E. Evens (Rhonda) of Savannah, GA, Arthur L. Evens (Anna) of Horseheads, NY and Gerald L. Evens (Rachel) of Elizabethtown, one daughter; Paula S. Rogers (Frank) of Jersey Shore, 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and one sister; Arlene Tubbs of S. Williamsport.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son; Stephen E. Evens, one daughter; Connie J. Miller and one brother; Earl M. Williamson, Jr.

There will be a public viewing 10 – 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at the Tabernacle Baptist Church, 911 West 3rd St., Williamsport where the funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will follow in Watsontown Cemetery.  Pastor Joel Long will officiate the services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tabernacle Baptist Church.
