WILLIAMSPORT - Michael "Mike" Cooney, 65, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2024 at UPMC Williamsport.

Mike was born on July 31, 1959 in Wilkes-Barre and was the son of the late James and Elizabeth (Brady) Cooney, Sr.  He enjoyed fishing, watching television, NASCAR and hanging out with his family.

He is survived by two daughters; Kristin A. Sharpe (Chris) of Williamsport and Sheri L. Davis (Robert Jones) of Boyertown, six grandchildren; Michael Morrill, Kole Hammersmith, Leland Morrill, Elijah Sharpe, Kevin Jones and Scarlett Sharpe, one brother; Edward Cooney (Joselyn) of Fountain Hill, one sister; Bridget Vasquez (Michael) of Houston, Texas, housemate and friend; Teresa J. Morrill of Williamsport and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers; James Cooney, Jr. and Patrick Cooney, and ex-wife; Lynn Cooney.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are being handled by Maneval Allen Redmond Funeral Home, 500 W. 4th St., Williamsport.
