WILLIAMSPORT - Ray A. Fisher, 92, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2016 at the Rose View Center. He was married to his soul mate, the late Alberta P. (Latta) Cooley Fisher on June 2, 1978 and they celebrated 33 years as husband and wife.

Ray was born on May 25, 1924 in Harrisburg and was the son of the late Oscar R. and Ida Catherine (Shatto) Fisher.  After graduating from John Harris High School, Ray enlisted and served with the US Marine Corps, serving during WWII in the Pacific Theater, including Iwo Jima.  He enjoyed a long career with AT & T and retired after 42 years of service.  He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Williamsport where he was also an elder and treasurer.  Ray was a member and treasurer of both the Loyalsock Lions Club until 2012 and the Lycoming County Blind Association.  His love of family, home and community was unparalleled.  Ray was a selfless man whose greatest joy was bringing a smile, or better, a laugh, to the face of everyone he met.  He will be deeply loved and missed by those whose lives he touched throughout his life.
